Catching Some Air - Aviation Photography

It's not often that I have extra time these days, but every once in a while a few minutes pop up. Now, pair that with the right location and photographic fun ensues. Take these for example. I had some time to burn on a recent trip to Alaska waiting for a late-night return flight out of Anchorage where there is a publicly accessible area just past the end of the runway - similar to Gravely Point at DCA. Must See: Library of Congress | Washington DC Photographer

Must See: Library of Congress

Whether you are planning you next trip to Washington, DC, or, like me, have been in the city for a few years and are just now starting to explore, set aside an afternoon and explore the Library of Congress. Inside you will find beautiful architecture, wonderfully colorful paintings, and intricate designs. The building and its art alone are worth the trip, but it doesn't stop there. The Library of Congress has several intriguing exhibits on literature and the arts. And, if you live in the area, you can get your own library card. It is an amazing place to go for a quiet afternoon of reading.

More after the break...

When you first walk in, take a moment to look around. Take it all in. Look left. Look right. Spin around. Then look up.
