Catching Some Air - Aviation Photography

It's not often that I have extra time these days, but every once in a while a few minutes pop up. Now, pair that with the right location and photographic fun ensues. Take these for example. I had some time to burn on a recent trip to Alaska waiting for a late-night return flight out of Anchorage where there is a publicly accessible area just past the end of the runway - similar to Gravely Point at DCA. MidWeek Edit: Gargoyle

Here in Midweek Edits, I take a look back at a random BKP favorite and re-imagine it. To kick it all off, a Notre Dame Gargoyle - and the original. I think the new edit brings out a classic feeling ferocity in the image - something from the darker side of Paris in the days of Dumas.

I increased the deep shadows and dropped the saturation across the color spectrum - saving only some yellows and oranges. Then I increased clarity and dodged the gargoyle to bring it to the forefront. Finally I cropped to tighten the composition and added a slight vignette. What do you think?
