Catching Some Air - Aviation Photography

It's not often that I have extra time these days, but every once in a while a few minutes pop up. Now, pair that with the right location and photographic fun ensues. Take these for example. I had some time to burn on a recent trip to Alaska waiting for a late-night return flight out of Anchorage where there is a publicly accessible area just past the end of the runway - similar to Gravely Point at DCA. DC Gets Hit with Snowmageddon - Feb. 6, 2010

DC falls under winter's spell. Snow blankets New Jersey Ave NW as locals come out to enjoy this historic storm as only locals can - with umbrellas.

Shelves were cleared long ago of everything... even canned beets. Nobody will be moving in this city for a least a week.

Except for those who want to show that "nothing stops them." Usually a Montana driver in a gigantic truck.

Where we're from, it might take two feet of snow before the busses are delayed. But, here in DC, I say, just sit back and enjoy the snow day.
