Must See: Montana Fall Road Trip - 2022

Wild Goose Overlook - St. Mary's Lake - East Side Going to the Sun Road - Glacier National Park Fall is like the blissful sunset of a beautiful day. The colors of the year blazing into brilliant reds and oranges. The weather holding out the last vestiges of warmth. And all the world seems to be curling up over a cozy mug of hot chocolate in the waning light. Just before the cold night of winter settles in. I love fall. And everything that it brings with it. Especially, I love the mountains in fall. How they can go from striking to moody in a matter of moments. And, (even) most especially, I love Glacier National Park in the fall. It is spectacle for the senses. Bright colors. Cool breezes. Altitudes and reflections. Hiking. Grazing moose. Scampering bears.  Head out highway 2 toward West Glacier and you are astounded by the sheer mountainous walls marking the entrance to the park. But, before you do that, my wife reminds me in one of those step on the brakes sort of ways, you absol

Llama Me - A Pet Project with Purpose

A little while back, BKP announced some big news would be coming. Now, a gigantic move across the country, a home purchase, a new day job, and vast new area to explore later, we're bringing the news.

According to the CDC, about 9% of married couples experience infertility. That's almost 1 in 10 couples who desire to have a family, but are not able to. The reasons vary, but the results are the same, empty arms and longing hearts.

When we - this couple that makes up BKP - got married, those numbers were just statistics. We did all the reading. Followed all the advice. Spoke with all the doctors. Now, four years later, it's no longer a number. It's the bassinet that we haven't bought. The sleepless nights we've never had. The baby-proofing that never happened. The hugs that haven't wrapped. The kisses that haven't smacked. And the deep hole in our hearts that grows a little bit bigger and hides a little bit further with each passing month.

We've been able to rejoice with so many that are now cleaning up messes and running after little ones. And we truly love each and every one. Yet, even as we get excited about every new announcement, we find ourselves once again tight in each other's arms fighting back tears.

We know we are not alone. We have been blessed by walking through this with others who are doing the same. So we wanted to find a way to connect with and support couples walking this path.

That's why we created Llama Me!

This Pet project started as a way to give voice to our desire for children. Llama Me is a growing family where each Llama Me represents a thought or dream of what our children could be. And the dreams expressed by friends. We loved it so much we thought it would be helpful for others.

So we just started putting them out there as NFTs for you to adopt with us.

When you adopt a Llama Me, you adopt the dream of a family for children and come alongside those struggling each day with this unmet desire. And, when it's time for your Llama Me to go out into the world, you can then carry this dream to others by making your Llama Me available for adoption.

In addition to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those struggling with infertility, the goal of Llama Me is to have it grow so that proceeds from adopting these cute, cuddly dreams would be able to help real people fulfil real dreams through real adoption.

Want to join with us? Adopt a Llama Me. Or share this post with others you think would be helped.
