Catching Some Air - Aviation Photography

It's not often that I have extra time these days, but every once in a while a few minutes pop up. Now, pair that with the right location and photographic fun ensues. Take these for example. I had some time to burn on a recent trip to Alaska waiting for a late-night return flight out of Anchorage where there is a publicly accessible area just past the end of the runway - similar to Gravely Point at DCA. iPhone: Hurricane Sandy

Here is a before and after of Hurricane Sandy. Praise the Lord it did very little damage here. Pray for those in NY, NJ, and elsewhere as the full extent of the damage is realized.
The Capitol as Sandy begins to make itself known.
Standing water and leaves cover the ground, but little other damage is evident.
Trees have been stripped of their leaves, but, for the most part, not their branches.
After the constant rain, there is little to show on the Hill except a few spots of standing water.
