Catching Some Air - Aviation Photography

It's not often that I have extra time these days, but every once in a while a few minutes pop up. Now, pair that with the right location and photographic fun ensues. Take these for example. I had some time to burn on a recent trip to Alaska waiting for a late-night return flight out of Anchorage where there is a publicly accessible area just past the end of the runway - similar to Gravely Point at DCA. DC Events Photographer | SCOTUS and the PPACA Decision

One great thing about being a photographer in DC is the possibility of capturing history as it is being made. Regardless of political affiliation, it is exciting to be at the moment when everything changed. One day, Lord willing, when these moments are written about in the history books, I can pull out these old photos, lay them out for kids to say, and say, "this is the day that happened."

More after the break...

Here are some pictures from one of those days - Thursday, June 28 - when the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) handed down its ruling on the PPACA (know also as Obamacare).

"This is the day that happened."
